Apple Craft

Lately Bekah has not been interested in doing crafts at all. She's just been so busy playing with her toys and whenever I asked her if she wanted to do a craft she would say "NO!" So, today I decided to take a different approach. I decided to get everything ready on the table and offer it to her when she was ready. IT WORKED! In no time she was at the table wanting to make a craft. We made an adorable apple craft I had seen over at Giggles Galore.

We stuffed our paper lunch bag with tissue paper I had leftover from unwrapping birthday gifts (you could also use newspaper). I closed up the bag with a twist tie.
Bekah then painted the apple red. I added a green leaf made out of foam with a stapler.

Bekah kept saying, "This is fun," so I hope this means she'll want to do crafts again!

  1. How funny I was just getting ready to post about the pumpkins we made last week with the same technique!

    Good job Bekah!

  2. I have found the same thing...given the choice, Meghan might say no to a craft, but once she's doing it...she loves it!

  3. We have the same problem, and it's made worse by the fact that she is kept busy at preschool doing all kinds of crafts. I am trying the same approach as you do - show the possibilities, and see if she "bites". This apple is really cute!

  4. I have that problem with R sometimes. I definitely have to be ready to go when she wants to do something or she moves on to something else.

We made pumpkins using that technique. We have a bunch of them around the house right now. I like the apple!
