My Heart is Like a Zoo - stART project

This week we used the book, My Heart is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall. I saw this book mentioned on a few different blogs and decided it would be a great Valentines Day project. After reading the book, I asked Bekah which animal she would like to make as a craft. She chose the lion (I think because it's on the cover of the book). So, I cut out all the parts we would need and Bekah glued them together to make the lion.

After making the lion, Bekah then decided we should make the owl, so we did. Then she decided we should make the frog, so we made the frog. And finally, she thought the crab would be fun to make, so lastly, we made the crab. We've really enjoyed this book and making these cute animals together.

You can see what others are doing for stART at A Mommy's Adventures.

  3. I've never heard of the stART project... Is it something you came up with or is it a curriculum of some sort? Sorry if this is a silly question...

  4. Rae - stART stands for a story + art = a great start. It's basically when you take a book and do a craft or fun project to go along with the book. You then post about it and can link up to A Mommy's Adventures. Hope this helps. I tried to get onto your blog to leave this message, but couldn't. I'll try again later! Thanks for reading!
